The cornerstone of ICOM is its ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums. It sets minimum standards of professional practice and performance for museums and their staff. In joining the organisation, ICOM members undertake to abide by this Code.

Samuel Franco Arce, is Guatemalan, and also member of the AVICOM Board.
Former president of ICOM Guatemala, and member of several committees and different working groups within ICOM, he knows well the modes of organization of such events realized in the spirit of ICOM.
With him in this responsibility, AVICOM is very confident for the next edition of its festival.
AVICOM, established in June 1991, is the International Committee for Audiovisual and New Image and Sound Technologies. It is one of ICOM’s (International Council of Museums) international committees.
