Statement of motivation
Having participated with CECA [International Committee for Education and
Cultural Action] for more than ten years, I admire and practice the principles it disseminates, using them as parameters for the actions I coordinate at the Education Department of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, one of the most representative museums of Brazil and Latin America. I have had the opportunity to present several of our projects at the Regional and International Meetings, experiencing these excellent opportunities for professional upgrading.
Thoroughgoing attention to the research parameters, evaluation processes, theoretical bases and practices that provide the framework for the educational action; support and recognition for the development of best-practice educational actions; genuine interest for the professional growth of its members; painstaking work for the construction of a specialized bibliography; and the guarantee of support for the exchange of ideas are challenges that were brilliantly taken up by the preceding administrations and should be continued by this one.
I believe that it is furthermore possible to seek greater agility and commitment in regard to the National and Regional representations while also strengthening the Local Committees. Moreover, CECA’s status as a benchmark of quality should be disseminated and strengthened, coupled with the forging and consolidation of links between the Committee and other groups of professionals in the area (both face-to-face and virtual).
