Minutes of the CIDOC 2014 AGM are now available online. These include the Working Group reports:
A remark concerning the planning of the 2015 CIDOC training programme in Brazil, made by the Secretary of CIDOC Maija Ekosaari during the Annual General Meeting, was interpreted by many of those present as a disrespectful reference to a national stereotype. Ms Ekosaari recognises that her remark was open to misinterpretation and sincerely apologises for any offence given.
CIDOC wishes to underline that it holds its Brazilian colleagues in the highest esteem, does not condone or approve of stereotyping in any context and believes that all individuals should be judged on their own merits, regardless of their nationality, race, ethnicity, age, faith or gender.
