The cornerstone of ICOM is its ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums. It sets minimum standards of professional practice and performance for museums and their staff. In joining the organisation, ICOM members undertake to abide by this Code.
As an ICOM member you can become a member with full voting rights of one of the International Committees. The 31 International Committees are global think tanks on museum as well as heritage matters. They define the museum professional’s standards, share scientific information, establish partnerships with other organisations and develop recommendations for ICOM members.
The membership of an International Committee is included in the ICOM membership and includes all regular services but does not include fees for specific events.
To apply for ICFA membership you need to become a member of ICOM.
If you are already a member you have to advise ICOM that you want to become a member of ICFA. Download the application form.
