The Museum Security Network has been on-line since December 1996. Its original aim was to be a source of information for cultural property protection professionals. Gradually, the Museum Security Network Google Group has become the main channel for the distribution of news and information pertaining to cultural property protection, preservation, conservation, and security.
The Museums Emergency Programme (MEP) is to be considered as a response to the needs expressed by museum professionals all over the world to develop expertise in the areas of emergency preparedness and response and is also included within the framework of the concerns of the International Committee of the Blue Shield (ICBS) which was set up to facilitate international responses to threats or emergencies with co-operation at global level.
AATA Online is a comprehensive database of over 136,000 abstracts of literature related to the preservation and conservation of material cultural heritage. AATA now includes selected subject-specific bibliographies produced as part of the Getty Conservation Institute's own conservation and scientific research projects or as part of specific collaborative projects in which the Institute is involved.
