The ICOM-ASPAC secretariat is gathering information of laws on cultural heritage and/or museums of the countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Considering the ‘UNESCO Recommendation Concerning the Protection and Promotion of Museums and Collections, Their Diversity and Their Role in Society (2015)’, the general status of national laws on those subjects of the ASPAC region will be reported during the ICOM-ASPAC General Assembly in Kyoto this upcoming September, 2019. Therefore, the National Committees of the ASPAC region are cordially asked to arrange to send their countries’ laws on cultural heritage and/or museums (texts in native and/or other languages) to <icomaspac@gmail.com> no later than 12th July 2019.
