One of the oldest open air museums in Europe whose existence relates to the “Wallachian Year 1” first held in July 1925. It features vernacular architecture of Moravian Wallachia region, both of the urban and rural environments. The founders of the Museum, the Jaroněk brothers, had planned to establish the so-called living museum showing the life of our fathers, their work or leisure time in numerous variations. Held there during the whole year are events such as ethnographic happenings, folklore festivals, meetings of artisans, or fairs. The Museum also cares for two folk Art Nouveau style buildings Libušín and Maměnka lying in Pustevny and designed by Dušan Jurkovič.
