The cornerstone of ICOM is its ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums. It sets minimum standards of professional practice and performance for museums and their staff. In joining the organisation, ICOM members undertake to abide by this Code.

11/4/15- INTERCOM 2015: Leadership For a Sustainable Museum- Washington, DC- October 28-31, 2015
The INTERCOM Conference was held at six Washington, DC museums, and had a total of more than 140 attendees with representation from 29 different countries. The Conference’s 35 presentations were given from representatives from 16 different countries, who spoke on topics ranging from empathetic leadership to the importance of sustainable building practices to community relevance. Its three keynote sessions were livestreamed, and will be archived on the Conference website, alongside a selection of Conference papers. In attendance were directors, curators, educators, and managers at all levels from history, science, art, and community museums. Our deepest gratitude is extended to all Conference speakers, volunteers, and attendees for making this event such a great success.

One of our Co-chairs, Diana Pardue, was elected on the Executive Council of ICOM. We are very excited for her new role and further involvement within ICOM. ICOM-US will be very well represented.
